The title of this email is a phrase that we have heard a lot this week. We don{t have very many people to teach, so we{ve been doing contacts like crazy. Lots of the times we hear "Te agradezco chicas" (thank you girls" and then the people close their doors. A missionary once told me that missionary work is like panning for gold. You've got to search through a lot of dirt before you find the nuggets of gold. I can feel that we are so close to finding someone who is prepared. I will keep you updated on the miracles.

The aunt of Rodrigo (Ruth) came to family night!!! I have had the feeling that she is going to get baptized. We just need to find the right moment to put a fecha (baptismal date). She has had a really hard life, but the gospel is the healing balm for the wounded soul.

Can I just tell you how awesome my comp is? She makes me rice every night during planning (She also makes me fat...jaja) We have so much fun together and we always encourage each other after rejections or unfruitful hours of contacting. She is such a blessing :)

There have been moments this week where I have felt without a doubt that this is the true church of God. I know He lives and is completely aware of the minute details of our lives. His glory is your salvation and eternal happiness. Stay on the path and the blessings will come.

Facturas y Fechas

Facturas - Argentina pastry

The theme of this week is facturas (see above pic) and fechas (baptismal dates)  Why? Because Sister Burt and I share a love for facturas. We also put a fecha with Azucena!!! She even came to Sacrament meeting on Sunday! It was a miracle. She went to a birthday party the night before. Argentine birthday parties last until like 3am, so we thought that she wouldn't come to church. Then in the morning she called and told us that she was going to pick us up in her car and we would all go together! We did a victory dance in the pension. :)

We have visited a few menos activos, but mostly we are trying to find new people to teach. Javier, the Golden contact, has a very complicated Schedule and we were only able to teach him for 10 minutes about the restoration. I'm hoping we can teach him more this week.

My new comp is super awesome! Together we are meeting the members and pounding out contacts. She only has one more month tan I do, so we are learning together. Speaking of months, I completed 7 months this week! I still feel fresh out of the MTC. It's crazy how fast time goes.

Challenge time: Share with someone this week how much God loves them. Everyone needs to be reminded who they are and whose they are.

Transfer News: I'm staying in Puerto Madryn and my new comp is Hermana Bert. She is my first comp from the states (California) and I'm super duper excited!!! She is blond, taller than me, and knows how to rap hard-core. We are going to see some miracles this transfer :)

Speaking of miracles, here's our miracle of the week:

We were walking through Barrio Roca. I saw a shifty looking hombre who seemed drunk. My comp started to contact him and it turned out to be the best thing ever. His name is Javier and he wasn't actually drunk. He said that the most important thing to him is being saved. He loves to read the bible, but doesn't associate with a church. He says that he wants his faith to grow and he wants a better quality of life for him and his family. Then he set up his own appointment for us to come teach him and his family. I thought:  Is this real life? Am I being filmed? This is like something from The District! 

Updates:

-Valeria, our atheist, hasn't prayed yet, but is reading the Book of Mormon. She is super nice and really likes us. I'm not sure if she has more faith or if we have just become her friends. I'll keep you updated.

- We haven't been able to find Jorge. We are going to pass by with my new comp.

- Silvia, our menos activa, came to church and she was even sober!!!

- The owner of our pension has the ugliest toy poodle that I've ever seen. His name is Toby and he barks all night long. Toby and I are not amigos.

- The Elders have been telling everyone that my new comp is from Germany...

This week we saw some miracles. We were knocking doors in the morning and nobody was awake. We decided to knock one more door before going to visit a member. Jorge opened the door and we began to talk. He told us that his Mom had died a few days ago. Right before we came he had been searching on the internet to find how he could feel more peace and comfort in his life. We taught him the Plan of Salvation on his doorstep. It is moments like these that make the mission so awesome :)

As you may or may not know, Argentina played Chile in the copa America. Pres gave us permission to watch the game. We watched it with Rodrigo and his Aunt. Argentina lost...pucha. BUT, we did play really well (Go Mesi!)

Transfers come at the end of this week. I have a feeling that I'm staying here in Madryn. I'll let you know next week.

Challenge Time (woot woot): Replace all of your music with hymns for one day (or more if your feeling hard core.) Hymns really bring the spirit and help us remember our Savior.

Anyways, enjoy summer time in the states!
